Frequently asked questions
Answers about our GOTS certified organic cotton, orders, and how we support families shopping organic baby clothing at Born 22.
Products & materials
What does GOTS certified mean?
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is an independent certification for organic textiles. Products that carry GOTS labeling meet strict requirements for organic fibers and also address key environmental and social criteria in production—so you get a clearer standard than “organic” used on its own.
Our pieces are made with GOTS certified organic cotton so you can shop organic baby clothing with third-party verification behind the claim.
Why organic cotton instead of regular cotton?
Conventional cotton is often grown with more synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Certified organic cotton is grown without those inputs (and without GMO seed), with practices that support healthier soil.
For baby clothes, many parents want soft, breathable layers that feel gentle on sensitive skin—often what people mean by hypoallergenic baby clothes. Choosing sustainable babywear made from certified organic fibers is one way to align what touches your baby’s skin with the values you care about.
How should I wash and care for Born 22 pieces?
Machine wash cold with like colours. Use a mild detergent and avoid harsh bleach or fabric softeners if you want to preserve fibre softness over time. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. Cool iron if needed.
Following the care label helps your newborn clothing and toddler favourites keep their shape wash after wash.
Why might colours look slightly different from the photos?
We photograph products in controlled lighting, but your screen settings and room lighting can shift how colours appear. Small batch dye lots can also create minor variation—this is normal in textiles and not considered a defect.
How do I choose the right size?
Use the size chart on each product page and measure against your child’s height and weight when possible. If you’re between sizes, some parents size up for longer wear—especially for newborn clothing in Canada where layering matters by season.

Orders, shipping & returns
Order updates, delivery times, and return eligibility can vary by season and destination. Your order confirmation email is always the best place to confirm details for your purchase.
Do I need an account to place an order?
No—you can check out as a guest. Creating an account lets you track orders, save addresses, and move through checkout faster next time.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, and other secure checkout options shown at payment (such as Shop Pay, where available). Available methods may vary by region.
When will my order ship?
We typically prepare orders within 1–3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). Made‑to‑order or pre‑order items ship on the timeline shown on the product page.
You’ll receive a shipping confirmation with tracking when your parcel is on the way.
Where do you ship?
We ship across Canada and to select international destinations. Shipping options, carriers, and delivery estimates are shown at checkout based on your address.
Import duties or taxes for international orders may be charged by customs and are the buyer’s responsibility unless stated otherwise at checkout.
What is your return or exchange policy?
We want you to love your Born 22 pieces. If something isn’t right, contact us with your order number and a brief description of the issue. We’ll walk you through returns or exchanges according to our current policy.
Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original packaging with tags attached where applicable. Final sale or clearance items may be excluded unless required by law.
Minor colour variation compared to on‑screen photos is not considered a defect.
